Meet Vito – a Ponte person

Vito

Vito was born at Ponte a Serraglio and grew up here. Years ago he visited Scotland, met an Irish girl, married her and stayed in Scotland where he ran 3 restaurants. He comes home twice a year and we met him the other day at Il Monaco where he entertained us with his tales of earlier times Bagni di Lucca. Isn’t he a handsome devil?

  1. Hehe you are smitten aren’t you! 🙂

    • Don’t forget Edoardo, we are engaged.

  2. You just watch out for those hot blooded Italians………..

    • As you know, he did offer his services.

  3. Very sweet looking man.

  4. He’s darling! Looks more Scottish than Italian!

    • Perhaps Scotland has rubbed off. He sounds very Italian.

    • Yep, he looks Scottish I think, now he’d have some awesome stories to tell wouldn’t he.

      • He cetainly had lots to say.

  5. I don’t know about handsome, being a mere male, but he certainly looks as if he has a deal of wisdom and kindness – the latter, I feel, being the most important thing of all in the end.

    • You are absolutely right.

  6. Can any of those ‘tales of earlier times’ be posted?!? Trust they would be MOST entertaining….oh questi uomini, questi italiani!

    • I’ll have to ask him to tell us a story for the blog.

  7. He is indeed a handsome devil, and that a very wicked twinkle he has in his eye! 🙂

    • There is definitely a twinkle.

  8. That handsome devil is my father and yes, he has many many tales to tell!

    • He is certainly a lot of fun to talk to at the bar.

  9. Vito, what a star…and a lovely home town too! why did you ever leave?

    • You would have to ask Vito that question.
