In winter, when it rains quite a lot in Bagni di Lucca, the river Lima turns into a raging torrent. With this in mind the green boat owners have created a new spot for it for the colder months.
I think this was just a practice run. I hope it has a few more trips on the river before the warm weather is over.
I can endorse the comments about the rain, and the state of the river in the winter. We have a house in San Cassiano, in the mountains above Bagni di Lucca, and have given up trying to use it in Dec/Jan/Feb, as the village tends to get snowed in quite regularly. In fact, a few years ago we wrote off a hire care trying to drive up the hill for the new year. It’s well worth all the hassle though, when you can lie by the pool, and soak up the sun in the summer, with spectacular views in every direction.

I love being in Bagni di Lucca in winter. I love the morning storms and the times whe we get snow. Coming from sub tropical Brisbane it is a treat.
