Sign of the times

Some people go to a bit of trouble to amuse others. I spotted this sign beside my bus stop in West End a little while ago.

It has gone now, no doubt removed by the council, but another one has popped up around the corner.

  1. Sign of the times, indeed. The world if full of too much sh*t these days! Great post.

    Hugs from Ecuador,

    • I was amused by the sign, covering the Pay Here sign.

  2. Definite lack of supply of public toilets, and if you are lucky enough to find one you have to pay to pee, or poo!!

    • It seems public toilets are becoming scarce everywhere.

  3. It makes people smile, and that’s a good thing 🙂

    • It seems like a bit of harmless fun.

  4. I really laughed when I saw the sign, and think only in Queensland would you see a sign like this. I find Queensland signs very straightforward, compared with signs in Bali, for example, roadworks signs. The Queensland signs are short and sharp – “Roadworks”; whilst the Balinese roadwork signs are extremely polite – “We are sorry for any inconvenience.”

    • There are always a few wags around.

  5. Poo who?

  6. I love that – whenever I try to use a parking meter near work….they don’t work!

    • I think you need a degree in parking metres to work these new ones.

  7. In Holland they have special tiles in the footpaths, depicting a dog squating to have a SH%T and it says (in dutch) “IN THE GUTTER PLEASE”
They even have special sand filed areas for dogs to shit in

    • Sounds like a good idea.

  8. I haven’t seen anything close to this in Italy, have you? Did you know there was a famous pop group here in the late seventies called I Pooh? Always cracks me up!

    • I have seen a No Entry sign in Florence that has been added to. Someone has made it look like a man with a plank under his arm.

      • Haha!

      • I also saw this, Debra and it intrigued me. i did some research and found that it was probably the work of French artist Clet Abraham.

      • The poo sign was not all that well executed, so I don’t think it was the same person who did the ones I saw in Florence. It has now moved to a sign around the corner.

  9. Someone has a weird sense of humour. 🙂
