Despite the gathering clouds I drove up the mountain to Casa Debbio.
I love the views from the road up the mountain.
Clouds closed in as soon as I arrived.
Mists swirled around Vergemoli and the mountains beyond. I think it looks stunning.
At one point the village disappeared altogether.
Rain and mist make everything look great.
…including the road out of the house.
Autumn is a beautiful season.
Such a magical place!

Deb you are such a brilliant photographer and have a way with words that I really felt I was up at Casa Debbio with you for that rainy autumn day. Looks misty and beautiful , you are right on that.

Know the feeling well, Debra. We have a place at Lucignana, just up the road from you and when the clouds roll in through the valley, it’s a mixture of feelings – eerie, mystical and beautiful at the same time,
Sauro

Your home would be a perfect setting for a Halloween party on a day like that! Do you celebrate Halloween in Italy or Australia? Belinda from San Diego, CA, USA

I don’t celebrate Halloween. There is some celebration in Italy, little in Australia.

Thank you again for your amazing pictures….loved seeing the clouds and mist in the first pictures hugging and filling in all the mountain ravines and ridges before consuming the entire mountain.

So lovely that you look down on the clouds in the valleys – they look like whisps of cottonwool.
