Our time at Main Beach has come to an end. The weather has been a mixed bag with sun, rain and some very windy days. Regardless of the weather I was up early every morning for a walk along the beach and a swim in the surf.
There have been some glorious sunny days…and a walk to Surfers Paradise.
All kinds of things get washed up by the waves.
Jelly fish of all shapes and sizes get stranded out of the water.
This one was the size of my thumbnail.
One morning after heavy seas these clumps of sea critters were washed up.
The tiny animals inside the shells were still alive.
This one was not visually appealing.
Unlike this cute little crab who tried to scuttle away from me at speed.
I don’t really like the highrise buildings being so close to the beach.
But the beach and the surf are just the way I like it.
Love them all but those shots with the Pandanus are so typical of that beach and that sea- misty shot along the beach is worthy of a cover. – agree with you, its my favourite beach in Australia too.

I grew up on the coast in the 1950s and 1960s. My father worked on Kinkabool, the first high rise in Surfers. The second one was built while I was in grade 7. I have seen many changes in Surfers…not all good.
