I am back in Brisbane. I have already booked my next trip to Italy, I will be back there in January for some serious winter weather, but for now I am in subtropical Queensland.
My Brisbane geraniums will take the place of my Italian ones.
….if that grasshopper lurking in the background doesn’t eat them.
My frangipanis are just about to open.
I have another pineapple growing.
And the little angel is keeping an eye on them.
I took thousands of photos on the latest trip, which I will show you over the next few months while I am at home in Brisbane. My Canon G12 is a bit tired and in need of repairs, so I now have to get used to the new G 1X, which seems to be a bit more difficult to operate. I’ll keep you posted.
lovely….summer!

Great to hear that you are safely back home. Gosh, I do miss the frangipanis….

My frangipanis are in big pots on my balcony, so they are a bit slower to flower than those in the ground, but they will be open soon.

Sub-tropical sounds nice – I say that as I am shivering slightly as I type – I am just home and it will take a few minutes for the central heating to kick in. I am look forward to seeing your photos over the next few months and good luck with the new camera.

The weather is good now, but it gets very hot around Christmas and stays hit for months. I prefer cooler weather.

Welcome back Deb. Brisbane is beautiful at this time of year . I know you will be loving the jaccarandas though they are falling now.
Your Brisbane geraniums look good but not as spectacular as the summer geraniums you grow in Bagni di lucca I am afraid.
Sorry to hear about that camera you loved so much-and we enjoyed a zillion pictures from.

Hi Debra, enjoy the warm weather and
thank you for your help and hospitality
on our recent holiday in Bagni di Lucca
The whole area is just as beautiful as
you always describe it, and more.
We had a fantastic time, the walks
and views around the hills where
amazing and the best meal we had on
the whole trip was the degustation lunch
we had with you and your (very funny)
friend Helen,
Could not believe you could have that incredible
food in such an unassuming
little restaurant in a village on top of the hills.
Can’t wait to come back.

It was great meeting both of you. I am pleased you enjoyed Bagni di Lucca and yes, that lunch was amazing.

ahhhh…..needed this rebirth and beauty as everything is seriously gray and barren here! So going back in January? How cold is it? Any snow?
By: thirdeyemom on November 7, 2012
at 11:52 pm
It will be cold in January and there will probably be snow all around us. It rarely snows in the village as we are quite low, but I will be able to see it in the mountains. I love it.

There’s nothing wrong with those photos: beautiful clarity. I love the silly old grasshopper, you can almost here his wheezy giggle – he thinks you don’t know he’s there.
