Best in Show

I have been working for the last couple of weeks at the Ekka, short for Brisbane Exhibition, where the country comes to the city.

My job is backstage at the fashion parades. I get to work with the most delightful young models. I take care of the clothes and help to dress the gorgeous things. The changes are very quick and it gets a bit hectic sometimes, but everyone is good natured and our days are fun.

Here are some of the heavenly bodies I look after.

Today was the last day. I will miss them…..until next week when I get to do it all again at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival.

  1. Gorgeous people!

    • They are aren’t they…..oh to be young and lovely again.

  2. Debra, Will send this on to my friend who came with me to the show. beautiful photo of boy and reflection. Roz

    • I like that one too.

  3. Now I see what’s been keeping you so busy Debra…. A tough job but someone’s got to do it! 😉 Great photos!

    • I agree with your friend Roz, beautiful photo indeed of boy and reflection. Love your blog.

      • The boys are gorgeous… is not too difficult to get good photos of them.

    • It is just as well I am tough and can cope.

  4. Looks like fun Debra…..and your topless models are trés, trés bon!

    • Backstage is fun when the models are as delightful as these.

  5. Good God, heavenly bodies alright! And they all look like great people too, i bet they just love you! c

    • They are all gorgeous….I would be happy to have anynone of them as a son or daughter.

  6. Aah, it’s a hard life, Deb.. 😉

    • I know, but I am up to the task.

  7. Debra, you have such a fabulous life.

    • I am not complaining.

  8. Great shots. We enjoyed the show last Thursday and were pleased to see some smiling models on the catwalk.

    • Models are not always encouraged to smile in parades, but this is a fun show and they enjoy doing it.

  9. The second photo is fun – I’m horrifying myself by thinking “they’re so young”!!

    • The blond boy is the grandfather of the bunch at 23.

  10. Now that sounds like an exciting job – hopefully some pictures of gorgeous outfits to come?

    • I don’t really get to photograph the outfits well. You need to be out the front for that.

  11. Is this what you do for a living? Or just sort of a side gig?

    • I used to be a fashion designer with my own shop, but I gave it up when we bought the house in Italy and now I just work part time behind the scenes at fashion parades. I love working with the models and still have a lot of friends in the industry.

  12. Surrounded by those lovely male bodies…stunning!!!

    • It is not a bad way to spend the day.

  13. What fun! I had no idea you did this. Lucky, staring at all of that young manliness all day long….great shots!

    • I do this part time when I am in Brisbane. It is fun and I get to look at lovely things.

  14. Well seeing that all the ladies are commenting only and dribbling over the young boys…… You ladies should be ashamed of yourselves….
I bet you only help the boys to get dressed Deb…. I was able to dress myself when I was about 4 years old, these kids must be a bit behind? LOL

    • I am pleased to hear from you Paul….the girls are gorgeous don’t you think? I am happy to marvel at the beauty of these young things, and recall the days when I was young and lovely. Those days are long gone and I am happy with my life, and I am also happy that I get to spend time with the heavenly bodies.

  15. Wow, what a fascinating opportunity. And such scenery! Such eye candy! Hope your coming week brings more beautiful people to see.

    • I will surrounded by beautiful people for the next couple of weeks…..I can think of worse ways to spend my time.

  16. Your photos are charming and they all look so happy and relaxed too !

    • They are all delightful, happy, healthy, gorgeous people

  17. Aww what gorgeous smiling faces!! 😀

    • We had a fun couple of weeks.

  18. What fun! I’m sure you are working hard but I know that you love this work.

  19. What a great job to do Debra.
Like the others, I love the reflection photo.
