Things I will miss in Italy

It is time to make my way back to Australia. I will miss lovely autumn in Bagni di Lucca.

I will miss the stunning drive to Vergemoli.

  4. the months will fly by and when you return the trees will be blossoming or about to be……have you gotten all the rain that Venice has been getting…it has made the news here.

    • We had a fierce storm a couple of nights ago. The magnolia in front of the house snapped off and there was s bit of damage inntge garden, but it will recover.

  5. It must be so sad to leave such a beautiful environment, your house, and Italy. But time will fly and Feb is just around the corner.

    • I have become used to coming and going and I love my life in Australia as well.

  10. The blue river running through the valley is so majestic it looks like a dream. Great photos.

    • The colour of the water changes with the seasons. Sometimes it is bright green. It depends on the light, snow melt and the amount of rain we have had. It is a stunning valley.

  12. I don’t know how you can bear to leave! For me, also knowing your home town in Australia, there is no comparison….. Is it my imagination, or are you spending less time in BdL these days?

    • I can leave because I know I will return soon and I enjoy my life in Brisbane too. I spend 6 months of the year in each place as I have always done.

    • Yes, it would appear that way, but I don’t usually talk about the difficulties of managing owning a property in Italy.

  16. I know how you feel, I used to always feel a little sad when we closed down our summer cottage in Maine. I’m sure you will especially miss your beautiful gardens.

    • It is sad to see the garden settling into winter, but when I come back there will be the joy of watching it spring back to life.
