I love winter even with the very cold temperatures at the moment. Yesterday I drove up into some of the higher villages of Bagni di Lucca. There was little snow on the ground, but it is covering the mountains nearby.
The starkness of winter has its own beauty.
I came upon some gorgeous ice sculptures.
There are signs that spring is on the way. There are buds on magnolia trees.
New shoots on a laurel hedge.
Tomorrow snow is forecast…there will be photos if it happens.

Oh how I would love that…I too enjoy the cold weather … I think one appreciates the other seasons after a cold winter…. I love nature’s rush to get everything done while the sun is warm.

Beautiful isn’t it? We had a big dump this week and although I stress about driving during snowy conditions, what I love is not only the beauty but the silence because snow absorbs the sound of traffic.
