Late summer at Ponte a Serraglio

Summer is almost over. There has been little rain and the river is low.

Our local heron has shallow water in which to search for fish.

Crows are trying to catch fish too.

Rain is expected today and the river will change. We need some rain, so I hope it comes.

  1. Wow, what a stunning location!

    • Ponte a Serraglio is a beautiful part of the world.

  2. It’s pouring here, so I suspect it is coming. Lovely reflections in that low water.

    • The rain has arrived with a vengeance. We need it, so there will be no complaining.

  3. It’s dry here too and warming up. The photos of Signore Talenti and his duck are very lovely.

    • You have to like a man who loves his duck.

  4. Some rain is urgently needed, but it still looks lovely!

    • The rain has arrived and the river is moving along.

  5. Hope you get this rain we are having in Paris for a few days. When we cruised the Danube the water levels were so slow some of the cruise boats could go to Bucharest. We were fortunate that River Duchess got through. The captain kept speaking of water levels. Sorry your river is low. Talk soon x

    • We have rain and it is good. I think it will last at least a day or two.

  6. Once again Debra I am floored by your pictures! Hope to meet you someday

    • Ponte a Serraglio is beautiful. We love our apartment here.

  7. Deb your photos are gorgeous as usual.

    • Thank you, I have a good subject.

  8. As I view your lovely, thoughtful photos a melancholy track is playing from Downton Abbey; seems most fitting for the culmination of summer and Signore Talenti’s affection for his duck.

    • The rain has come and the river will soon rise…all good.

  9. Beautiful Debra! I love the first shot especially.

    • The river looks great with the reflection.

  10. Love the reflections in your photos

    • They make good photos.

  11. Interestingly, the low water level caught my eye … and then you mentioned the forecast of possible rain. Cheers to the area’s beauty.

    • Heavy rain has come. My garden at Casa Debbio will enjoy the water.

  12. Signore Talenti is such a fantastic name 🙂 The surroundings are lovely. Such a beautiful place!

    • I call him Duckman, but his real name is much better

  13. I love the photos Debra. Makes me feel like I am there! Enjoy the time

    • A short trip to Italy is better than none at all. I love Ponte a Serraglio.

  14. I love seeing Signore Talenti’s duck and the heron – they are iconic fixtures in the Ponte a Serraglio scenes. So wonderful for your to return to your gorgeous apartment amid familiar surroundings. Warm ‘Ciaos’ to the locals: Annalisa, Cherry, Agostino for me. Look forward to seeing more of your adventures on your blog.

    • It is good to be back, it doesn’t change much.

  15. …and Bardi, too!

  16. Love the photos especially Signore Talente and his duck ;D. Need rain here, too. Had a bit but more would be welcome.

    • There has been a white duck here ever since I have been coming to BdL. It can’t be the same one.
