When we were in Venice earlier this year I became fascinated by the doorbells. Some of them looked like happy faces to me..see what you think.
I love the details I spot on my travels…and Venice is a bottomless pit of treasures.

Now, you’ve gone and done it, Debra! May is so far away.
Venice is unbelievably magic. How can a city do that to so may people? (I know, lots of people don’t fall under the spell, thank goodness.)

I love venice too, I have only been once, but I definitely want to go again, maybe in the winter for a change. But there are so many places I want to visit in Italy! Decisions decisions!

Winter is a good time to go, there are fewer people, but it can be quite cold. I like October in Venice.

Wonderful! And most amusing. I think I will be looking at doorbells in a whole new way now. Merry Xmas!

Great topic and photos, Debra! I personally love the one with the demon face…A bit scary for the “postino”, though.

I think some of them definitely look like faces. I wonder if that was the intention.

I wonder if they are peculiar to Venice. I don’t recall seeing them elsewhere, but I will be on the lookout. Merry Christmas to you too. I hope all is good in the west.

Fascinating collection of door bell pics, Debra. 🙂 Some of them look quite ‘down in the dumps’.

There are definitely expressions on these “faces”. I smiled as I passed each one.

You got great eye for details as always. This time with some real humor and candidness. Very nice. The first two nailed it, This post is worthy to Facebook-share. 😀

Yes, some of them look like happy faces. And all of them make my doorbell look very ordinary.

Really great photos Debra. Some look like little robots. Venice is unique, as are its doorbells.
Merry Xmas and Cheers
