I have taken photographs of faces and bottoms on my travels. There are also lots of lovely feet about.

The toes above belong to Michelangelo’s David.

  1. I love feet! It’s reassuring to see that some feet are not perfect. I often wonder about the long-toed soft boots and shoes from the Medieval and Renaissance times, whether the wearers ever trip over them or have a certain way of walking to avoid that happening?

    • Those long toed boots must have caused a few problems in their day. People probably had to walk like ducks to avoid tripping.

  2. So cute Debra and clever! Love the little fisher feet!

    • You will see the rest of him soon.

      • Lovely. I shall look forward to it!

  3. I love your collections of faces, bottoms and now feet. The one you are missing this time is a perfectly pedicured foot, with glossy red toe nails and a “stiletto” sandal! I guess that finding this will be a real challenge!!!! I’m sure that you can do it, Debra.

    • I will scout around for the perfect foot for you.

  4. Hi Debra! Where do you get all this inspiration for new ideas, tell me! :)))))

  5. Thee’s some interesting feet amongst your photos!I love the last photo- interesting shoe combinations!

    • I love that last one too. I’m pleased it turned out at all, the library was packed with people and some of my photos were out of focus as I was being moved along by the guard.

  6. I hate feet, but not this post! You always have great ideas! I like the bums the best. 😉

    • I probably should redo the bums. There must be some good ones on Sardinia.

      • You know … I’ve never noticed. But now that you’ve put the idea in my head, Ill keep an eye out.

  7. Love The Red Shoes In Montalcino … Won’t Feel So Bad Now When My Husband Wears His Red Pants For Spring … Thats Very Fashion Forward Here In North Dakota, USA 😉

    • My husband has a pair of bright green ones that I bought for him in Italy. He gets lots of comments.

  8. But no grape-stomping feet. 🙁 … Nonetheless, well done.

    • I have actually stomped grapes with my feet….nearly 40 years ago in S’Agata (outside Sorrento) It was a lot of fun.

  9. Love it. A post with sole! (Sorry, couldn’t help myself.)
    Hugs,
    Kathy

  10. You had a very original and interesting idea. Buona Pasqua.

    • I am now working on hands.

  11. Who would have thought…. FEET?!! Great!!!
    Yours,
    –Tootsie

    • I love all the tiny details I see on my travels.

  12. Some of these sculpted toes look so real. Love David’s toes. WOW!

    • David looks good from head to toe.

  13. These are amazing photographs… Sculptures and shoes… But I should say which one is my best 🙂 “Purple suede at Luisa, Florence” fascinated me, so beautiful…. Thank you dear Debra, you did a great post again. With my love, nia

    • Purple is one of my favourite colours. I have purple shoes, but without high heels

  14. We would love to post the 4th from the bottom photo at toemail if you do not mind? jttp://toemail.wordpress.com

    • Be my guest! The rest of him will be on the next post.

  15. Oh, I want those red shoes! Happy Easter, Deb! 🙂 xx

    • I love those shoes too!

  16. You are a STAR! In fact .. are you my long lost twin sister? I have spent a ridiculous amount of time (and film) collecting the feet of angels in graveyards.. WOW! you are so cool! this is my favourite post, my angels feet will love your Italian toes! c

    • I love the detail of these sculptures, especially the hands and feet. I hope you like hands too, because I have a collection of those to post soon.

  17. At the Palais Garnier opera house in Paris, at the base of the grand staircase, are two life-size statues whose feet dangle tantalizingly towards you as you start the ascent. I’ve heard it’s good luck to touch their toes – it’s certainly impossible to resist!

    • I look forward to some serious toe touching when I am next in Paris.

  18. So many beautifully sculpted (and painted, and shod) feet! The attention to detail is great.

  19. It’s posted now. Thanks so much for participating in toemail – we really appreciate it!

    • You can have my feet anytime.
