Frenchie is a tiny restaurant where is is very difficult to book a table. The clever people who own it opened another minuscule place across the street with bar like seating, where there are no bookings. You just turn up to 5 Rue de Nil, write your name on the waiting list and hover about, drink in hand, and wait for a space to be available. The street is very cute, and the wait makes for some very interesting people watching.

In the street.
Our turn comes and we are in.
The food is mostly small plates to share. It arrives quickly and efficiently at just the right time, and most importantly, is absolutely delicious.
Our terrine.
Prosciutto and black figs.
Pear with pecorino.
Delicious salmon.
I forgot to photography the heavenly pear tart, we just ate it.
If you have read the last 2 posts, please note that these restaurants were not visited in one day. I have been in Paris for a week. It has been great, my feet are worn out from pounding the Paris pavements, but it is time to go to Bagni di Lucca. My next post will be from my lovely little village.
I like the pictures of the facade of Frenchie they make it look so inviting and the food looks lovely.

You can book for the original Frenchie, but because there are so few tables, you would need to do so well in advance. The bar is excellent and if you arrive fairly early you won’t have to wait very long.

I think Paris is the most beautiful city in the world, without doubt.

I have been wanting to go to Frenchie for a while now but never seem to book far enough in advance. This little bar looks a great alternative. The food looks fabulous.

The bar is a great option. The food is excellent and if you go early you shouldn’t wait too long. It is not really suitable for big groups. More than 4 is a bit of a problem

You find some amazing places. I’m glad you clarified that you didn’t attend the restaurants of the last few posts all in one or two days. That just wouldn’t be fair!

It would not only be unfair, it would be greedy.

Thank you. I have just arrived in lovely Lucca and will soon be on the bus to Bagni. We will be there in time for a pizza at Marco’s.

What a fantastic idea, I love it, wonder if that would work here in Canberra? Such a clicky little town. But I sure do love the idea. It’s so quaint, and old world. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

The bar is tiny and very easy to fill. I think it would work anywhere as the food is excellent. The word soon spreads if the it s good.
