Ristori…coffee, gelato and more

Just before I left Italy I discovered a lovely new place for coffee, gelato and a snack in Lucca. Ristori  takes its name from the perfume store it replaced in the main street, Via Filungo, between Via Buia and Via San Giorgio.

The long, narrow shop  has been lovingly restored. You can stand at the tiny bar for your coffee or sit at one of the tables.

I can report that the coffee is very good. I didn’t try the cakes, but I will next time. They look delicious.

I need to try the gelato as well…all in the name of research, of course.

There are a couple of tables tucked in a little corner at the back of the shop.

I think Ristori is a great addition to Via Filungo.

Take a look at their Facebook page.

  1. We saw it, but we were in a rush… Next time, we will certainly stop by. As you said, Debra, it is great to see it opening on Via Filungo. We are still waiting for del Simo to reopen. Thanks, Debra!

    • I wonder if Di Simo will ever reopen. It was a great place to go for coffee.

  2. Nice place! Thanks for making it known.

    • I hope you try it one day soon.

  3. Cant wait to try the coffee and perhaps something sweet…

    • I’m sure you will like it.

  4. Aaaah….I miss those Italian coffees and gelatos!! Still think that AnnaLisa’s coffee is the best in Italy. Love the look of the Ristori.

    • It is hard to beat Annalisa’s coffee at Il Monaco, but this is a nice place to go in Lucca.

  5. Don’t know how you possibly walked out of there without trying the cake with your coffee. 🙂

    • I had not long had breakfast otherwise I would have tried one.

  6. A toast to your find!

  7. Everything in there looks delicious.

    • Doesn’t it? I look forward to my return.

  8. The coffee and pasteries look wonderful!!!

    • I am very keen to try one of those pastries.

  9. Beautiful. Just beautiful.. c

    • Italy is full of gorgeous little cafes, and the coffee is great.

      • The coffee is not too bad in aussie either, must be all those Italians!.. c

      • Yes, we are lucky our coffee culture here in Australia was started by our lovely resident Italians

  10. oooh tuck me up in that last little corner, propped up by a coffee and a delicate little cake and I’d be a happy woman.

    • I look forward to going back in September.

  11. What a beautiful place! The attention to detail is amazing- even the gelati tub covers are elegant.

    • They have done a great job on the new cafe, it looks very invting.

  12. Looks lovely…would love to get back to Luca sometime to try it.
    I loved Luca!

    • Lucca is one of my favourite towns in all of Italy. Luckily I can visit regularly.

  13. Beautiful ceiling and who could resist a tasting of their coffee, cakes and gelato…..impossible!

  14. I love the lights, the ceiling and the pastries. Lucky you, having Ristori on your doorstep.

  15. You’re very good to have resisted the lure of those cakes! 🙂

  16. I am so excited to hear about this! I’m just starting to plane a group for Lucca for next spring. Thanks Debra!

  18. […] I was too enthralled with the food to take any photos of the interior, so take a look at Debra’s blog post to see what I am talking […]
