The Buddy Bears in Senate Square

Buddy Bears in the shadow of the Lutheran Church

The Buddy Bears have gathered in Senate Square, Helsinki for several reasons.  The Buddy Bears stand together hand in hand in a peaceful circle, promoting tolerance and understanding among different nations, cultures and religions.  They also help the UN to raise money to help the children of the world who need assistance.  I think  they look very stylish in the process.

It was fun to wander about and see how each country represented itself.  Anything that promotes tolerance is a good thing.

  1. Cute!
    Interesting too.

  2. Those bears must travel the world, because John and I saw them across the road in front of Humboldt University in 2006. I reckon it’s a terrific idea to promote that goodwill. I wonder where else those bears have been?
