I loved my visit to Borough Market in London last year so I had to go back again this year. I went mid afternoon to find it extremely crowded. All of the amazing food was on display, it was just a bit difficult to get close to it…I tried.

There was a special queue for the Ginger Pig sausage rolls.
All of the stands selling prepared food had long queues so I went to Applebee’s for lunch and had the best seafood I have eaten. It is in Stoney St, on the edge of the market. If I could I would go every day.

For breakfast on another morning we went to Monmouth Coffee Company, also on the edge of the market. The trick is to position yourself in the corner seat. We missed out and had to make do with standing at a bench. I discovered the canelle, the small, truly delicious French pastry. I will now seek these out in other locations. (I found them at Banette in West End…I am now a regular there)

I wish I lived close to this market, but I could live without the crowds. If you go, go early, as soon as the market opens.

Great Photos, went there in 2018. Missed a lot of what you saw. Went to a small but good market at rue de la Cler, 7th A, Paris & visited the St Severin Church you recommended. Thank you 🙂

The market is fabulous, I wish I lived nearby. The crowds make things a bit difficult.

Wouldn’t it be great to have this as your local market?

What a scrumptious post! thank you for keeping us ‘in the loop’ with the abundance and plenty we have in the world; despite all the negative…your colazione looks divine; introducing your new discovery. Yum!

It feels frivolous writing about all this abundance when there is so much wrong with the world right now.
