Dolce & Gabbana overload

From the Heart to the Hands:Dolce & Gabbana is the incredible exhibition celebrating the artistic and creative legacy of Domenica Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. It began on 7th April and will continue at the Palazzo Reale in Milan until 31st July.  Each room is an overload of design delights, a walk through the tapestry of influences that have inspired the work of the designers.

Once you walk through the curtains to the first room you are surrounded by the extravagant and joyous world of Dolce & Gabbana. From the mirrored ceiling to the walls covered with inspiration, there is too much to take in at once.

In the second room the ceiling is completely covered with chandeliers and the soundtrack is shattering glass.

The Gattopardo room. Scenes from the movie “The Leopard”.

The chapel, a lace covered glass chapel….very difficult to photograph.

A workroom is next, it looks as though workers have just left the room.

La Scala.

……another stunning collection of garments.

If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the next room. It is a joyful riot of colour. It makes me want to return to Sicily.

I want this wardrobe!

I have one of these!

The angel room.

Ancient Rome and Byzantium.

The final garment is a gold wedding dress.

In case we had not seen enough, on the way out were glass cases displaying shoes and sunglasses.

I am delighted that I am in Italy and was able to see this incredible exhibition. I have been a fan of Dolce & Gabbana for years.
