Blue Brisbane Skies

I am back in Australia for a few weeks. I have escaped the winter rain in Bagni di Lucca and I am enjoying lovely sunny blue sky days in Brisbane…how lucky am I?

Brisbane is a beautiful city, especially when the sun shines…take a look.

Today the sky was pale blue. This is from our balcony.

My balcony has produced another tiny pineapple.

It is nice to be home in Brisbane for a while.

  1. The blue sky is gorgeous.

  2. You are not missing much here. Rainy, cold and miserable almost everywhere in Europe. Enjoy the blue skies and, hopefully, the weather will improve when you come back. You could start exporting some sunshine from Down Under…

    • There is heavy rain around Lucca. It looks as of there is a moat around the wall right now. I love winter in Bagni di Lucca, but rain day after day gets me down a bit. I am lucky it isn’t too hot here.

  3. I think we need to spend some more time in sunny Brisbane. Maybe soon.

    • It is lovely here now and I am missing heavy rain in Italy…what luck.

  4. Beautiful city! enjoy australia!

    • It is nice to be home for a while.

  5. Wow. That’s like a shot of vitamin D. Almost too much to bear from here in rain-laden Italy.

    • I have seen photos of the rain in my area of Italy. I think I am in the right place now.

  6. Congratulations on winning the blog award for your category! Also, Brisbane is gorgeous…I love the beach scene and palm trees. Thank you for sharing a very nice post with lovely photos

    • That beach was created on the old Expo 88 site. It is a big success. I think it is great to have this so close to the city. Thank you for your kind comments.

  7. Such a limpid blue beach right next to downtown? Stunning. Hope to see Australia one day. Thanks for the little glimpses!

    • The beach was created on the old Expo 88 site and has been a big success. It is a free sandy beach close to the city.

  8. What a gorgeous place! Congrats on winning the Best Single Travel Post. You deserve it!

    Hugs from Ecuador,
    Kathy

    • Brisbane is a beautiful city. I have the best of 2 worlds, great city life in Brisbane and gorgeous mountain village life in Italy.

  9. It’s certainly a change from miserable rainy old Italy!

    • It is a very nice change. I hope the rain has stopped by the time I get back next month.

  10. Beautiful Pictures. Debbra will you be in Brisbane on Sat. 22nd March. I will be returning from a week with Kay and Graham on the Sunshine coast a flying back to Adelaide that day. If you are would you like to meet for lunch.

    Pam

    • Unfortunately I leave for Italy on 7th March. We will catch up somewhere one day.

  11. I’m so impressed by your pineapple growing Debra. What’s the taste like?
And so much beautiful blue. The Australian sky is pretty much unmatched isn’t it.

    • The pineapple that grow on my balcony are delicious. I plant the tops of pineapples I buy and eventually I get little pineapples. Some, like that one, are seriously tiny, but they taste great. There are some serious benefits to summer in Australia.

  12. Hi Debra, Congratulations on winning the award…..well deserved!!!
Best wishes from a sunny Bangalow

    • Thank you, sunny Bangalow is a good place to be.

  13. Oh looks so lovely!!!! Especially the beach shot!

    • Brisbane is a lovely city.

  14. Looks really gorgeous there, Debra, and how thoughtful of that pineapple, to be waiting there for your arrival. 🙂

    • There is usually a pineapple waiting for me on my return. I don’t think I will be flooding the market any time soon, but it is fun.

  15. Congrats on the award!

    • Thank you Francis, I hope it brings a few more people to our lovely area.

  16. Auguri! Congratulations on the award!!!

    • Grazie. It is nice to be noticed.

  17. Love your city, Debra. Will be back next week, flying in from WA after
three weeks of adventuring. Would be nice to connect.

    • We will probably be at the Gold Coast. Do you feel like a day at the beach?

  18. Love the clouds. I also take a minute to stare at the sky not particularly for the weather but to see if there’s any conspicuous-looking cloud.

    • I find clouds fascinating…and the colour of the skies…glorious.

  19. Welcome home .
And a HUGE congratulations on winning the award .So richly deserved .

  20. Gorgeous blue skies Debra! What a contrast to the dismal weather across the US. Congratulations on your win 🙂

  21. Congratulations on your win, well deserved! You’ve captured some brilliant clouds over Brisbane.
