Pitigliano in southern Tuscany is one of those towns that I love to return to. It sits in spectacular fashion on top of a tufa ridge.
The amazing aqueduct dates from the 1600s.
The Piazza della Republica is dominated by the Palazzo Orsini and a couple of stunning fountains.
Come for a walk through the town.
The cathedral in the centre of town is very impressive.
We had lunch again at Osteria Il Tufo Allegro in Vicolo della Costituzione 5…when you are on a good thing, stick to it.
Arrivederci Pitigliano…I will be back.

Pitigliano is much busier in spring and summer. We were there around lunch time and the time when most places are closed. Also I try not to get people in my photos. Pitigliano is a small town, but it has a lovely atmosphere and I will certainly be going back for more visits.

Aaahhhh brings back lovely memories, thank you Debra. I watched Italy Unpacked on BBC TV last night, they travelled to Carrera and Pisa, I have to get my Italian fix in any way I can. Role on Spring when the direct flights start again 🙂
