There are many beautiful balconies in Verona.
The balcony that every visitor to Verona wants to see is Juliet’s balcony, despite the fact that it was built in 1936 to take advantage of the fame of Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet. The area is always crowded, so the plan worked.
You can see “Juliet’s Balcony”
You can rub poor Juliet’s breast.
…and perhaps rub a bigger hole into her right breast.
You can add a note to the wall.
…add one of these ridiculous locks.
Scrawl some graffiti on the wall.
…or, worst of all, stick a wad of chewing gum to the wall.
Isn’t that romantic?
Don’t judge Verona by this travesty, it really is a lovely city. Click here to see the good bits.
