Deciding where to eat in Portovenere is never easy. There are lots of great looking places along the waterfront.
My favourite little fishing boat in its usual place.
There are also some interesting places in the street above the harbour.
We wandered up to the church on the point to see the gorgeous view.
Take a close look at the ledge. There are some old coins corroding there.
Directly below the church we spotted Le Bocche. It looked too good to pass by.
Lunch was delicious.
The restaurant is right at the end of the point where the boats pass on their way to Cinque Terre.
The day was overcast and a bit dull when we arrived, but steadily improved. By the time we left the water was sparkling in the sun.
Even the pigeons are relaxed here.
There are always lots of seaside souvenirs to buy.
Brand new figs are on the trees.
And the Signora is still waiting for her ship to come in.
It is good to know that some things don’t change.
