My lovely friend Rosi sent me some photos of the little Christmas market in Bagni di Lucca. I have to say that it looks very cold there right now.
Luckily there are places to warm up while you shop.
I wish I was there warming my hands by the fire, then I could head across the road to Del Sonno for a delicious wood fired pizza, or some of Jayne’s wonderful saltimbocca.
Bagni di Lucca is famous for making beautiful Nativity scenes.
As well as the Nativity scene on display in the market, there is a display of old presepe from Sicily in the Circolo di Forestieri behind the market.
The style of these is quite different from those I saw In Napoli.
Back at the market it is time for some warming crepes with Nutella.
I have not had a Christmas in Bagni di Lucca – it will happen one year.
Merry Christmas to everyone in Bagni di Lucca! Thanks Rosi for allowing me to be part of the cold fun. Have a prosciutto and gorgonzola pizza for me.
