Edoardo will be missed

My friend Edoardo has died. A precious little bit of Ponte life has gone. I will miss seeing his face light up when I walk into the Bar Italia.
He wasn’t looking so good when I was here last and I worried that I might not see him again. He was 95, and while I know that is a pretty good innings, I wish I could see him sitting at the bar every day or beetling along in his old car.
He loved having a post written about him. He thought he was world famous. I think he needs a send off.
This morning I went to the cemetery in Fornoli to visit his grave.

He was born 16th April 1916 and died 26th August 2011. He is now buried beside his wife who died in 1996.
The grave is in a lovely position on the side of a hill. The sun was shining on him this morning.

The cemetery is behind the pretty church in Fornoli.

Wherever you are Edoardo I hope there is music and dancing.
