The Mall – outlet shopping near Florence

the mall

If you love designer clothes and accessories at bargain prices you will love The Mall.  It is set in the fairly remote village of Leccio, south of Florence.   It is a very well organised shopping centre with beautiful stores displaying their wares as they would be in any designer boutique.  It never looks bargain basement, but most items are half price or less.  They are not current stock, but mostly one season old.  Occasionally you can be lucky enough to pick up a very good bargain, with pieces priced well below cost.

The designers available include Bottega Veneta, Valentino, Salvatore Ferragamo, YSL, Gucci, Burbery, Hogan,  Tod,La Perla, Zegna, Pucci, Armani and Marni (my favourite).  New brands are being added slowly.  It is particularly good for mens’ wear.  My husband has bought several suits here in the past few years.  Anyone with a shoe or handbag addiction will be in heaven.

well set out shops

There is an excellent restaurant where you can charge your batteries before heading back into serious bargain hunting.  The coffee is good, as you expect in Italy and there is an excellent range of food.  Watch Fashion TV as you enjoy your lunch or snack.

If you have a car, leave the A1 at the Incisa exit.  After leaving the Tollbooth, turn right towards Leccio.  Drive for 6 kilometres without leaving the main road.  You will come to a roundabout, turn left and you will see The Mall.  There is ample parking and there is an ATM at the entrance.

It is possible to take a bus from Florence.  Look for the Sita bus station near Santa Maria Novella train station.  The trip will take about 50 minutes and you will be driving for the most part through gorgeous Tuscan scenery.

I have always found the staff here to be very friendly and helpful.  Remember to ask for your Tax Refund.
