Saturnia hot springs

We have been back to Saturnia. I think the best time to go there is in late winter or early spring. The weather is cool, but not too cold, perfect for a splash in the warm water. I can’t imagine being there in summer with dozens of other people on a hot day, sitting in that warm water.

If you go early in the morning, or late afternoon, mid week you get the springs almost to yourself and you can select the spot you want. I have a special pool where I can lie with the warm water splashing over my shoulders…perfect.

We stayed in the same place as we did before, Le Cascatelle. It is a short walk to the spring and a short drive to the town where we had dinner at the same place. We know what we like.

See our previous visits here. The first post was on my first visit on a sunny weekend. It is a wonder the crowds didn’t put me off. All other visits have been mid week in cool weather.
