I walked past The Dairy.

And a very cute squirrel.

The Alice in Wonderland sculpture is one of my favourite things in Central Park.

    • I spent hours in the park on Sunday, I didn’t want to leave.

  5. Oh to be back in New York and walking in Central Park. It’s really great to see your photos of the park at this time of the year and compare them to when we were there in April last year. It’s beautiful in all seasons!

    • It is beautiful in spring, but I love seeing the buildings surrounding the park and these are hidden in the summer by the gorgeous trees…you can’t have everything.

  6. Such a beautiful park! It is one of my favourite places in New York… well, my list is very long. Thank you, Debra for bringing it to us.

    • I think I have covered most of Central Park over the years, and I would never get tired of walking there.

  7. Beautiful day, beautiful pictures. thanks for this walk in the park.

    • It was a gorgeous day. The weather has not bee the best, so I took advantage of the blue skies for a trip to the park.

  8. Looks like the city dolled itself up for you. Everything is sort of extra clean and sparkly. I love the Alice statue…where is that? I’ll have to take the girls when we go next. And the elms!! They are my favorite. Of course, you’ve seen the ones in Bryant park. They are so beautiful. Like dancers, sort of.

    • Alice is not far from the Metropolitan Museum, just a litte downtown from there, near 5th Avenue. Your daughters will love it. I had to wait ages for it to be free of climbing children to take the photos. I love Bryant Park. I was there this afternoon after I went to the library.

  9. Yes thank you for sharing your ramble through Central Park Debra. Almost enjoyed these stunning scenes as much as you did 😀

    • It really is the most beautiful park, New Yorkers are very lucky to have such a large green space in the city.

  12. You captured so beautifully what I take for granted even as I live so close to the park….!

    • I can’t see how you could take Central Park for granted. It is absolutely stunning in any season.

  13. How lovely. I love Big Bird and the Bubbles, and Alice and the squirrel. Why is that little building called the Dairy? it’s lovely but it looks like a church?

    • I think it was actually a dairy at one time.

  14. I loved the squirrels in Central Park! And it looks relatively empty-when we were there, it was so busy.

    • The park was actually crowded with people because it was such a gorgeous day. I just angled my camera around them.

  15. When visited NYC the summer of 1967 there was an outdoor restaurant at the angel fountain in Central Park. I had lunch there with my parents and at the next table was the actress Mildred Dunno (she was 66 at the time) and two very handsome young me at least forty years younger than she. My imagination ran amok and to this day I wonder what what the relationship. It was all so glamorous and exciting to see. The Photos of the fountain and the staircase brought that all vividly back to me. Love it! The song that summer was Up Up And Away In My Beautiful Balloon, the movies were Blow Up and The Taming of The Shrew with Liz and Dick. And everyone on the bus and the subway were (Including me!) reading The Valley of the Dolls.

    • Oh and there were still Automats on Broadway!

      • I don’t know this. I will try to find them.

    • I would love to see the park full of summer fun. I have been in very early spring and autumn, but never summer. I have a friend who came in summer and went boating on the lake. He said it was wonderful.

  16. That is so New York! You captured the very heart of it. You amaze me tremendously, Debra.

    • Central Park is the breathing heart of New York. I love to walk here for hours.

  17. Great Central Park photos!

  21. What a lovely day you had walking through Central Park, though Big Bird looked a little cold to me! 🙂
My favorite part of Central Park is Bethesda Fountain. Maybe I’ve watched too many movies.
Isn’t it hard to imagine that there once really were sheep roaming in the sheep meadow?

    • I have covered most of Central Park over the years and I love it.
