I have just had a couple of days in lovely Sydney where I met one of my favourite bloggers, the delightful Celia from Fig Jam and Lime Cordial. She took me to one of her favourite places in Sydney, the White Rabbit Gallery.
The gallery was established in 2009 by Judith Nelson who wanted to share her collection of Chinese contemporary art with the Australian public. The collection now contains more than 600 works by 250 artists.
Come and see some of the amazing things.
These 2 pieces were created by Shi Jindian. They are wire copies of iconic vehicles. Each vehicle was dismantled and the parts encased in wire. The wire frames were then reassembled into vehicles. The detail is incredible. There is even tread on the tyres.
This might look as though a corner of the room is unfinished and the pipes are left exposed, but look closer…this is created with cloth and needle and thread.
This is also needlework, created by Gao Rong, who recorded the signs at her bus stop.
The next one is by Zhang Chun Hong who has recorded her own waist length dark hair on a paper scroll.
The exhibit below is truly incredible. The body is created with layers of paper.
What you can see behind the body is identical, but opened up. Take a closer look…find the fingers and feet.
I told you it was incredible.
This is carved from a single log.
The desk below looks as if may have been carved from wood, but it is ceramic.
Ah Leon created a set of 20 desks to remind his aging friends of their school days.
The images on the bottles are painted on the inside.
The next one is fun.
As well as the amazing art, there is a beautiful shop and cafe, where we had delicious tea.
There is much more to see, so you will just have to get to Sydney soon. The exhibits change regularly.
It is free to enter the gallery.

You must come to Australia. It is completely different from Italy, but wonderful in its own way.

Very glad you got there – we love the White Rabbit, though too few people find it. Well, maybe that’s good for us, because it’s never crowded.
