We had friends staying with us recently who had not been to the gorgeous part of Tuscany just south of Florence. We needed no other excuse to drive along our favourite road between Siena and Pienza. Here is what we saw on a lovely spring day.
Brand new chestnut blossoms.
Brand new figs.
This scenic road from Siena goes through Asciano and on to Pienza. It is gorgeous at any time of the year
All I can say is ‘ahhhhhhhh……’

We walked with friends for a week from town to town starting in Siena, with Pienza as one of our stops. How lovely to see your photos and have the memory come back of that special trip! It really is one of the most beautiful places!

The whole of Tuscany is so beautiful that it is hard to decide which area is the best. I would have the lot, but then, Bagni di Lucca is so pretty…..

Lucca is one of our favourite places in all of Italy. Have a great holiday. If you look through some older posts in the Lucca and Bagni di Lucca categories you will find some tips on the area.
